Redemption, resurrection and the new beginnings of spring are the themes of both this historic holiday and the season.
As Companions of the Holy Royal Arch we have seen such new beginnings as we worked at rebuilding the Temple, knowing that the cycle of decay and destruction eventually give way to desire inherent in us as creators, our need to build and start again.
Whatever loss we have suffered over the past year as individuals, as families, as chapters, whatever failures we have faced, or disasters that have decimated our lives we know that there is a season of redemption, a moment of new beginnings, an opportunity to resurrect our passions, rekindle our hope, brush off the trappings of despair and start again.
The first lesson we are taught as Freemasons is to be good and true, beyond this we strive to be better men, compassionate fathers, dutiful sons, faithful husbands, community leaders and examples of the values of our craft for the world to witness. Yet when we fail to uphold the high ideals of our institution and stumble in the execution of our duties, we must remember to hold onto the faith that we can always do better, and that our craft is a progressive art.
Do not allow the grind of the world to tear away at your will, but rather take this moment to inculcate the lessons of Easter, the redemption of our failures, the resurrection of our desire to create and the opportunity to start again.
Happy Easter.
