Bio:
- Born in Brampton Bierlow, South Yorkshire (about 12 miles NE of Sheffield)
- Attended Wombwell High School
- Joined the Royal Navy 1963 as an Engine Room Artificer Apprentice
- Emigrated to Canada 1967
- Went back to sea as an engineer office on Merchant ships in 1973
- Acquired a First Class certificate as a Marine Engineer 1980 and sailed as chief engineer on several vessels until being recruited by the federal department of Supply and Services as a Technical Inspector in 1983
- Retired in 2012

- Formed and organizes a seniors cycling group since 2007
